Chevrolet Vortec Big Block V8 (454) EFI Distributor - Black

Direct-Replacement EFI Distributor for the 1996–2000 GM Vortec 7400 7.4L / 454 CID Big Block V8

The GM Vortec 7400 — the Gen. VI big block 454 CID used in 1996–2000 heavy-duty trucks, Suburbans, and Express vans — is a purpose-specific EFI application with its own distributor requirements. If your C/K 2500, C/K 3500, Sierra 2500, Sierra 3500, Suburban 2500, or Express is showing signs of a failing distributor — hard starts, misfires, timing irregularities, or weak spark — this TSP distributor is engineered as a direct-replacement unit for the factory computer-controlled distributor used in Vortec 7400 applications from 1996 through 2000.

The Vortec 7400 uses a crab-style female terminal connector and a computer-controlled advance system integrated with the factory ECM. This distributor is built to those exact specifications — magnetic pick-up trigger, computer-controlled advance, crab-style female connector — so it installs directly into compatible Vortec 7400 applications without wiring modifications, connector adapters, or ECM reprogramming.

The machined aluminum housing and steel gear are built for long-term durability in the working-truck and towing applications these engines are known for. A zinc-coated steel hold down clamp is included. No ignition box is required. An external coil is needed and is not included. Verify distributor gear material compatibility with your camshaft before installation — the steel gear is most compatible with cast iron hydraulic and solid flat-tappet camshafts.
