Direct-Replacement EFI Distributor for the 1996–2007 GM Vortec 4300 4.3L V6

If your 1996–2007 Chevrolet S-10, Blazer, Astro, GMC Sonoma, Jimmy, or Safari is showing signs of a failing distributor — rough idle, misfires, erratic timing, or hard starts — this TSP Vortec 4300 distributor is engineered as a direct-replacement unit for the computer-controlled EFI distributor used in GM's 90° V6 4.3L / 262 CID applications from 1996 through 2007.

Unlike earlier 4.3L V6 distributors, the Vortec 4300 generation uses a crab-style female terminal connector and a computer-controlled advance system that integrates directly with the factory ECM. This distributor is built to those exact specifications — magnetic pick-up trigger, computer-controlled advance, crab-style female connector — so it installs without wiring modifications, connector adapters, or ECM reprogramming on compatible applications.

The machined aluminum housing and steel gear are built for long-term durability. No ignition box is required. An external coil is needed and is not included. Verify distributor gear material compatibility with your camshaft before installation — the steel gear is most compatible with cast iron hydraulic and solid flat-tappet camshafts.

 

Applications
Designed for the GM 90° V6 — 4.3L / 262 CID Vortec 4300 — in 1996–2007 EFI applications. Confirmed common vehicle applications include Chevrolet S-10, Blazer, and Astro; GMC Sonoma, Jimmy, and Safari. Functions as a direct replacement for the factory computer-controlled distributor used in these EFI-equipped trucks and vans. Not compatible with pre-1996 4.3L V6 applications, which use a different terminal connector and advance system.
