Chevy 1987-1997 V8 (305-454) EFI Distributor
Direct-Replacement EFI Distributor for 1987–1995 Chevrolet and GMC V8 Trucks, Vans, and SUVs
If your 1987–1995 Chevrolet or GMC C/K truck, Suburban, or full-size van is experiencing ignition misfires, erratic timing, or hard starts on a 305, 350, or 454 V8 EFI engine, a failing distributor is one of the most common causes on these platforms. This TSP distributor is engineered as a direct-replacement unit for the factory computer-controlled distributor used in GM's TBI and TPI EFI V8 applications from 1987 through 1995 — restoring accurate ECM signal control and reliable spark delivery without reprogramming or additional ignition modules.
Built around a magnetic pick-up trigger and a male terminal connector, this distributor integrates directly with the factory EFI wiring harness and ECM on compatible non-Vortec applications. Computer-controlled advance means the ECM manages ignition timing — no mechanical or vacuum advance tuning is required. The machined aluminum housing and steel gear are built for long-term durability in daily-driven trucks and working vehicles.
No ignition box is required. An external coil is needed and is not included. Verify distributor gear material compatibility with your camshaft before installation — the steel gear is most compatible with cast iron hydraulic and solid flat-tappet camshafts.
Applications
Compatible with Chevrolet Small Block V8 Gen. I (5.0L / 305 CID and 5.7L / 350 CID) and Chevrolet Big Block V8 Gen. II Mark IV and Gen. V (7.4L / 454 CID) in non-Vortec EFI applications. Primary year range: 1987–1995. For 1996–1997, application is limited to one-ton G and P series vans only — not compatible with 1996–1997 Vortec-equipped trucks or SUVs. Confirmed common vehicle applications include Chevrolet C/K 1500, C/K 2500, C/K 3500, and Suburban; GMC Sierra and Suburban.
